This International Women’s Day marks the 115th time the world has come together to celebrate. To put that into perspective, when the first IWD was observed in 1911, the computer was still a human job title, and the concept of a cloud was strictly meteorological.

Fast forward to 2026, and the software development landscape has changed beyond our wildest imagination. At Hoverfly Cloud, we spend our days helping teams simulate real APIs to accelerate development testing. But there is one thing we never simulate: our respect for the women technology leaders setting new frontiers.

Give to Gain: strengthening the ecosystem

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain”, resonates deeply with the developer community. In open source and enterprise engineering alike, we know that the more we contribute –through mentorship, better documentation, and shared knowledge – the more the entire industry flourishes.

We aren't just celebrating for a day; we are celebrating because the retail, finance and other sectors we serve would be unrecognisable without the women leading their digital transformations. From the architects of mobile banking apps to the engineers scaling global e-commerce platforms, women tech professionals are the backbone of our digital infrastructure.

Supporting communities closing the gap

While we look back at 115 years of history, we are focused on the organisations making history right now. We are proud to highlight and support the vital work of those dedicated to closing the gender gap and creating more women leaders in the tech space.

Groups like SheCanCode providing the tools and community needed to thrive in a competitive landscape, while Women in Cybersecurity ensure that as our digital world expands, our data is managed by a diverse and talented workforce. Similarly, Women in Tech is hard at work empowering women in STEM.

Inspiring the next generation

One of the most powerful ways women accelerate action is by inspiring the next generation. Through mentorship, education, and advocacy, they are creating pathways for more women to enter and thrive in the tech industry.

Seeing women in leadership roles, designing and testing complex APIs, and driving innovation sends a powerful message: technology is for everyone. This visibility is crucial for encouraging young women to pursue careers in STEM and break down the remaining barriers.

Our commitment: 115 opportunities

To honour the 115th anniversary of IWD and lean into the “Give to Gain” spirit, we want to lower the barrier for women in tech to build, test, and scale.

With our partners at iOCO UK, we are offering the first 115 women developers who reach out this March the opportunity to use the Hoverfly Cloud platform for one month, completely free. Whether you are a junior dev or a senior architect, understanding how to leverage different API simulation and proxying modes is key to building resilient, scalable systems.

Please note: This offer applies to our Developer Package, providing full access to the core API simulation features you need to accelerate your workflow. However, should your project require more – such as enterprise-scale integrations or higher throughput – our expert team can discuss the business benefits of virtual APIs and tailored solutions to ensure you have the support your project deserves.

Whether you are performing retail application testing on a new checkout flow or complex microservices testing for a banking migration, we want to provide the tools to help you succeed. Everything you need for realistic API simulation, with no catch – just a commitment to the next generation of leaders.

Put us to the test. Fill out the request form below to claim your month on us.
